Glenn Beck agrees with me!

If you read my post, "Going green is making me see red" (below) you know how I feel about it all. Well....it seems that one of my favorite radio personalities, Glenn Beck agrees with me.
On the Friday, June 27th show, he and his side-kick, Stu were talking about it and were expressing exactly my sentiments. Do you think they read my blog???

Deep Conversation and Dilitheum Crystals

The other night after attending a couple of wedding receptions, Gordon and I stopped for dinner at a quaint little restaurant in Eagle and had a quiet, leisurely dinner. We got lost in great conversation about politics, the kids, the ward, about everything you can imagine, including the recent gas crisis. I started telling him how Jess and I had seen two engine powered bicycles riding down Fairview Ave. that afternoon and that I thought it was a creative way to beat gas prices. I am convinced that until we stop taking gasoline for granted, driving our huge SUV's (we are as guilty as anyone) and cutting back, that we will be held hostage by the big oil countries. That led to conversation about gasoline alternatives. We discussed Ethenol and came to the conclusion that we can't use our food stores to produce Ethenol as the solution. I commented that I bet there are mad scientists right now behind closed doors coming up with new alternatives for the future. Most of you know that I have always harbored a secret desire to be a secret CIA operative and I pictured high level espionage and countries stealing from each other to be the first with the new technology. What a great idea for a movie plot! That's when Gordon told me that there is a new alternative on the table - it's called Dilitheum Crystals. I couldn't believe it - he knows everything. My eyes got wide and I could not believe he knew that! But thankfully, before I said anything, I recognized that glint in his eye and caught myself. I started laughing and told him I knew he made it up and he thought I was gullible enough to go for it (Now where would he get that idea?). We had a great laugh about it (maybe you had to be there....) . But seriously, we do need to conserve, change our ways and send a message to big oil countries that we are not going to take it any more.

The best part of the story? Later that night, Star Trek came on TV and guess what they used to power the Starship Enterprise? Dilitheum Crystals! My funny husband...

Jessica turned Sweet Sixteen!

Jessica recently turned Sweet Sixteen and had her first date. It was with the boy who now drives the silver truck that Gordon sold (yes, we're still bitter about that one...). Jess was thinking it would be really wierd to go on her first date in the Silver truck, with all of it's family history, but it turned out that they double dated with a couple who drove. This picture is my feeble attempt to get a picture through the window and blinds on the sly as they were leaving.

Here are some of the latest pictures of Cameron and Eli playing on the tramp and sitting on "their" bench on the front porch. Cameron has had a hard time sharing the bench because his Baca got it when Cameron was the only grandchild and named it "Cameron's bench". We are learning....
